Step One: Find Dates & Locations
Explore PSAT testing dates tailored for homeschool students in Alabama. These tests are only given in October of each school year.
Step Two: Register Before Deadlines
Register for your preferred testing date and location before the deadline listed. Be sure to notify the testing site if you are enrolled in a church school.
Step Three: Attend the Test Session
Ensure your student arrives at the test location on time for the testing sessions, and follow instructions give by testing coordinators.

Registration deadlines vary each year by testing site. Typically, August and early September are still open for test registration.
Sites are located across various Alabama districts.
Use the registration information on this page to register for locations that we have arranged to accept homeschool students.
Contact participating local schools directly and early. Some local schools will be open to homeschool students, particularly private schools. But, early contact (July and early August) gives the most favor.
Be sure to notify the testing location of your school of enrollment, if you are enrolled in a church school. If your church school has a school code, be sure to provide that number.
Bring photo ID and any other verification required by the testing site.
Students may also be required to bring a laptop or digital device for the test administration needs.
Exams typically occur in October annually.
Some testing sites limit this test to 10th and11th grade students only. Only 11th grade students can qualify for the National Merit Scholarship program when taking this test.
